Though her emotions do steady him a bit. He closes his eyes and tries to take a deep breath to calm down. Perfect opportunity right?]

[ her head snaps up to look at him. she looks almost terrified ]

No! No, no, Eighis, its not like that, but. But. I just. I don't. I don't know h-how!

[ it's like a dam inside her has just broken and she's never had to swim before ]

[Fortunately for Komesh, Lyn's paranoia includes a heightened sensitivity for when there's people nearby, and it's only a few seconds before he realizes someone's there and looks up from his husktop. There's that second as his body tenses up like a plucked bowstring before he recognizes who's standing there, and then he relaxes again. And then his eyes drop to Komesh's arms as he realizes the other troll is holding something, although he can't quite make out what it is.] The hell is that?

[By now, Komesh will be used to the fact that Lyn phrases everything aggressively. Despite the abrasive-sounding inquiry, his tone is nothing more than idly curious.]

[He can't actually sign anything so he just comes forward so that Lyn can get a good look. It's a little wiggler, all tiny and a little dirty and with cute little horns and big, trusting eyes.

His expression wavers between unsure and nervous and maybe a little pleading.]

[ awwww yeah. while his eyes are still closed, she stands on her tip toes, yanks down on his shirt so she can reach him, why is he so tall fdjgkjs, and kisses him. it's not terribly long and she pulls away before he can react much, but that's ok, more time for that later ]

[ welp, have an extremely blue-faced nikkal kind of just. curled up. ] ...is Komkom okay?

[He supposes he should have been expecting it. He jumps a little when he's yanked and freezes a second too long to really kiss back but he pretty much melts. Allllll the good feelings.

He smiles and leans down so he can press their foreheads together and starts fingercombing her hair. A little nervous about attempting another kiss right at this moment but yay for affection!]

[He flails some more and tries to sign, and fails at that and he has no idea where his notepad is and and--

Well, the hug is awkward but tight and his expression is extremely apologetic under the mortification.]

[ o-oh hugs. nik is always receptive to hugs. she returns the hug and lifts her head to nuzzle at his face. ] It's alright. Don't worry.

[Lyn's jaw understandably drops. Holy shit, the wriggler barely even looks old enough to have made it through its trials yet - and he knows damn well what it means that Komesh has it, that there isn't an angry protective lusus that's ripped the seadweller apart by now. It means no lusus is watching over this wriggler.

The good news is that while Lyn may be a jackass about a lot of things, orphaned wrigglers hit very, very close to home. He simply stares down at it for a second, then up at Komesh, looking vaguely thunderstruck.] ...holy shit, where did you find him? [He's just guessing/assuming it's a him, for the moment.

Then he realizes Komesh can't actually elaborate on a damn thing while holding the wriggler and, after an uncertain, awkward second, holds out his arms to take him from the other troll.]

[ she just sort of laughs a little as he combs through her hair and lets herself lean against him. she hesitates briefly, but then decides why not, and slowly reaches a hand up towards his face to touch right where his fins attach. seadwellers, man, what even. ]

[ Eighis is going to go sit next to her on the pile. Because standing while she was sitting was starting to get awkward. ]

er... Well... Technically, I don't know how either.

[The fin flutters at her touch, and he breathes out in a quick, silent 'hahaha.' It tickles a bit but feels nice so he tips his head into it and then suddenly dips down for a very brief kiss. Very brief, but still, a kiss!]

[The nuzzling helps him calm down a little and he nuzzles back after a moment. Then he starts combing his fingers through her hair, as much to calm himself as her. He still feels terrible for failing but hugs are nice and she isn't mad.]

[Komesh's fingers twitch at the question, but he can't really speak, so he moves forward and with exaggerated care slowly hands the wiggler over. He's so terrified he'll hurt it. It's so small...

Once he's done with that he takes out his pad and scribbles an answer.]

[ she's a still a bit embarrassed herself, but she's trying to stay calm for his sake. so when he starts stroking her hair, she reaches up to gently tweak his fins in return. ] Komkom can, umm, maybe try again later if he wants.

[Lyn holds it awkwardly, gingerly; he's every bit as nervous that he'll hurt him somehow as Komesh is. Handling wrigglers isn't just something Lyn's not equipped for; it's really something no troll is equipped for. Wrigglers are left pretty much on their own until they're chosen by their lusus, and orphaned wrigglers...well, even more so. Trolls don't care for younger trolls.

He alternates between staring down at the wriggler and flicking his gaze up long enough to read Komesh's note. And...wow, this is really hitting Lyn's platonic pity triggers hard. The circumstances under which he lost his own lusus as a wriggler are really similar to this.

A fang digs into Lyn's lower lip as he thinks. Obviously Komesh has no intentions of leaving the wriggler to its own devices, or he wouldn't have brought him here to show Lyn; Lyn isn't considering that, either, so basically that's already decided. He gives Komesh an uncertain, almost helpless look.] ...I have no goddamn idea how to take care of a wriggler, y'know.

[He shivers a little, and they flutter at the touch. Feels nice. The words make him blush even harder, but he nods a little.

He's still too nervous to try again, but more convinced than ever that Nikkal is simply the best there is, so he breathes out a sigh and nuzzles her again.]

[It took him a very, very long time to completely heal from his accident and his memories are hazy at best. He hovers close, brushing a finger over the wriggler's hair with utmost care once he's done writing. He looks completely out of his depth and worried, but determined at the same time.]

Not much. Trying to figure out how to alchemize something decent to fucking eat.

[Hairpetting is nice, and it helps him calm down a lot too, as a bonus. Being calm is good and hugs and hairpetting are good too. He can do this.]

Ehehehe~ [ eee nuzzles. she gives him another tight hug in response. ] No pressure. Niknik is okay with hugs and cuddles and everything else! 'Cause Niknik loves doing anything with Komkom.

[Lyn looks down at the wriggler again and laughs a little, kind of weakly.] Y'know we're probably the worst fucking candidates ever to try and take care of an orphaned wriggler, right? I mean, I basically raised myself and I did a pretty shit job of it.

[Not that he's making any move to distance himself from the wriggler, who is currently nuzzling into the folds of Lyn's oversized shirt, possibly trying to curl up where it's warmest. He seems pretty content at the moment.]
