[Komesh doesn't bother writing a response to that, just smiles and gives a little nod.

Then he leans in and pretty much wraps himself around Lyn and the wriggler. Because they're doing a good job so far. Look at the little guy and his nuzzling.]

[Wrapping oneself around Lyn certainly isn't hard, given his size. And although Lyn would never openly admit it, it's pretty reassuring to have Komesh there to lean on(both literally and otherwise). Okay, yeah, neither of them have any idea what the hell they're doing, but he'd rather be clueless alongside Komesh than be clueless by himself.

He leans back against the taller troll, looking down at the wriggler - but despite the apparent peacefulness of the scene, his mind's too neurotic and too active to simply be satisfied with the calmness of the moment. He's silent for a few long beats, but then he speaks up again.]

I don't even remember what the hell wrigglers this young eat. [Because they're going to have to feed him eventually, aren't they?]

[He has to loosen his grip a little to write, but the moment he's done he's back to holding on.]

[Lyn grimaces.] My lusus used to bring me hopbeasts and squeakbeasts and stuff, but I was a lot older than this wriggler is back then. I don't even remember far back enough to know what I ate when I was this little... [He looks down at the wriggler, who's settled himself under a fold of Lyn's shirt like a makeshift blanket and looks fairly at peace with the world, blinking slowly up at them.] But, uh, yeah, I don't think we're doing fish vomit. I think that might've been a lusus-specific thing.

...we should probably get him in the ablution trap or something, though; he looks like he's been rolling around in the dirt. Can't even tell what caste he is. [Not that Lyn particularly cares - caste has never been a big thing for him, and even less so ever since his relationship with Komesh became a thing - but he's admittedly curious.]

[He considers that, and disengages reluctantly to write.]

[Komesh is already heading off to the ablution block, though slowly enough that his message can be read as he goes. He's a little curious himself, though it wouldn't make a difference. Maybe for little things like the best water temperature for a comfortable washing, but not otherwise.]

[Lyn gets up and follows Komesh, still holding the wriggler. He's amazed by how light it is...jegus, it really is incredibly little. How old? A couple perigees, if that?]

I guess... [Lyn sounds dubious. He's used to mostly acquiring things by stealing; certainly not by ordering things online. That would require giving an address, which he doesn't exactly have. Worse, Lyn isn't sure what resources even exist for trolls taking care of a wriggler - that isn't how it usually works, so how much advice or supplies are they likely to find?] Also, what do you mean, warm?

[He starts drawing the water once he puts his pad down, smiling back at Lyn and the wiggler. So cute.]

Oh. [Lyn feels like a bit of an idiot for not realizing Komesh was asking about the water temperature.] Yeah, s'fine if you're okay with it. [The thing about him not dealing well with cold is sadly true. Lyn's too small and too thin to hold his body heat well; anything below temperate and he gets miserable quickly.] And I guess we wouldn't really want to go hot or cold anyway until we know what caste the wriggler is. [Not that Lyn is any sort of expert on wrigglers, but surely something this tiny and fragile has to be pretty susceptible to extreme temperatures, right?

He flushes a bit under that smile of Komesh's. He knows damn well he's probably being given some level of adorable rating in the other troll's thinkpan(although there's always the chance that Komesh is only directing the gaze at the wriggler). Generally, he hates being thought of as cute in any way...but if it's an affectionate observation from someone he likes, he'll usually let it slide. It's rare enough for people to genuinely like anything about him (and for him to like them back) that he's not going to risk calling whatever it is they do like about him into question.]

[He draws the water, keeping it shallow enough that the wiggler can move on his own without much chance of drowning. They'll be watching after all.

Then he waves Lyn over with another smile, his hands too wet to bother with writing.]

[Lyn walks over to the ablution trap, and...finds himself almost reluctant to set the wriggler down. Part of it is, he suspects, extended paranoia; the idea that anything this small and helpless can survive without hyper-vigilant care and protection seems ludicrous, and the particularly neurotic parts of his pan are half-convinced something will happen to the wriggler as soon as it leaves his arms. The rest of it is...probably affection, although it seems insane that he could've formed an attachment to this little thing so fast.

But it's so goddamn small.

Hesitantly, he lowers it into the water, looking somewhat uncertainly at Komesh for confirmation that he's doing the right thing. He's well outside the realm of appearing tough/cool right now, and normally that would bother him, but those concerns are currently being overridden by more pressing ones. Maintaining his reputation, while something he's always put a lot of emphasis on, does tend to take a backseat when the actual welfare of someone else is involved. It's why he always gets flustered and stops being a jerk (briefly) whenever he genuinely upsets trolls like Nikkal.]

[Komesh gives him his best attempt at a reassuring smile, leaning in close and gently helping support the wiggler as it gets lowered into the water.

He squeezes one of Lyn's hands and then very, very carefully starts scooping water to trickle over the wigglers back.

His smile goes knowing when the wiggler squeaks and tries to rear up at the water. A little fighter.]
