_{[It's rare that Faye is taken by nerves. She doesn't shake or sweat, nor does curl her hair into knots and bite her nails (the absolute horror), though she does get apprehensive, and her mind often goes into overdrive. Anytime those feelings start to rise, though, she does her best to squash them out, often diving into an activity until she feels better or staring whatever it is that's making her nervous with every intention of conquering it.

She's doing the latter, right now.]}

[ He feels her staring and it's definitely a little... unsettling? Best to shrug it off. ]

What's with the look? Sizing me up for a project?

_{[Okay, she can't help but chuckle a little at that, and steps closer, an eyebrow raised in playful challenge.]}

And what if I said yes?

[ A laugh and a dismissive shrug. ]

I'd say it's about time! So what do you have in mind?

[ He puts his arms straight out to his left and right, as if expecting her to start making measurements. ]

It's something badass, right?

Faye stares at him a moment

Then, she steps once more to close the distance, leaning up and in to take his face in her hands and press her lips to his.]}

[ And he sure as hell wasn't expecting that! So his arms, which were originally going straight out like a T, are now flailing around juuuuuust a bit.

After about a second he just kind of goes with it. But he's still really fucking confused. ]

_{[Some might call Faye distant, and they'd be right, to some degree. What she isn't, though, is scared, apprehensive, or wary of being physically close to others for its own sake. She's frequently in their personal space, touching, prodding, poking, and moving them to doing what she needs them to that simply being near someone isn't enough to bother her. She shifts and adjusts, directs others to where and how they need to be.

Now isn't the first time for exceptions.

With a swift motion, she firmly moves to catch Donovan's wrists in her hands and direct them closer to her body, but without making contact. There. She's given him a bit of a hint on the where, and she'll leave it to him to do the how.]}

[ And it took Donovan this long to realize that he actually had very little idea what he was doing. But Faye seemed like she knew what she was doing! So he was going to just. Follow her lead.

His hands. On her.

He can do this.

...right?

He brings one hand to her back, just between the shoulder blades. The other one, he tries to bring to the back of her head.

And he's half expecting her to pull out a ruler and start smacking him with it. ]

_{[Faye knows what she's doing ninety eight of the time. With one percent, she acts like she knows what she's doing, until she eventually figures it out. With the other one percent she admits that she has no clue and just plays things by ear.

This is now the one percent.

She might be kissing, but she's not about to tell which one this is.

Donovan feels very hard and strong against her, a funny thing when he's looking to her for direction. So much of Donovan is hard and resilient and unyielding, but his lips aren't like that at all. Common sense would say they wouldn't be, and yet it's a pleasant and welcome surprise, nonetheless. She wonders if he can feel her heart beat, and the thought excites and scares her in measures that she's glad to say aren't quite equal. While she could, she doesn't mean for this to go on forever. There'd be time enough for that later.

Still, it's hard to think of later when she has this amazing, scary thing, wonderful thing right now.

She shoudl work on stopping, now.

Okay, now.

That was a practice moment.

Faye finally pulls her lips back, though they're not far from his, and breathes in, lashes fluttering.]}

It's probably not what you had in it, but you don't mind, do you?

_{[She means to sound playful and easy-going saying it, but there's a want for approval threaded in her voice.]}

[ Donovan, of course, is still completely bamboozled by this turn of events. He feels something about all of this, but like hell if he has any idea what that something is. So when Faye pulls back and puts a stop to the kiss, Donovan looks pleasantly surprised. ]

I, uh...

[ He takes about a half step back, trying to get a handle on the situation. But knowing Faye, that handle was in a vice grip in her hand. ]

Nope. I didn't see it coming, and I don't mind, but... wow.

[ And then he smirks, closing his eyes and shaking his head for a second. ]

You didn't go insane or anything from your work, did you?

_{[He says "wow" and a chopped, breathy noise slips past her lips in what might be said to be a chuckle. He's just such a dork, sometimes. It's endearing.]}

Hmm, I'm sure the nature of insanity dictates that I wouldn't be able to discern whether I was no longer of sound mind or not on my own.

_{[She taps her lip thoughtfully, eyebrow raised with a small smirk of her own. It takes everything in her to keep her finger from lingering for a moment longer, but in some ways, it doesn't matter.

She can still feel them tingle. ]}

So you've lost it. Great.

[ He shakes his head, still apparently in disbelief. ]

You're going to kill me so there aren't witnesses, right?

[ And then he laughs! Looks like he may finally be adjusting to the situation a bit. ]

_{[It's cute how off kilter he is about this.]}

Witnesses won't be an issue, naturally, I've just yet to decide on a method. It's like picking colour palettes on a custom, one of a kind outfit: you've just got an infinite number of possibilities, but only one shot to land the perfect one. It's a lot to decide.

But at least you can't say that you've never been kissed, non?
[Her voice dips fully into a French accent by the end, and entirely too amused at that.]

You do have a point.

[ He laughs, and can't help but be glad that things seem to already be back to normal. ]

So, uh, how would you kill me?

[ So he's changing the subject just to be safe. ]

_{[The fact that they're more comfortable talking about hypothetical murder than feelings would probably garner a raised eyebrow from most people.

They aren't most people.]}

Poison. It's not nearly as messy as other options, which makes for a cleaner workspace.

[ Donovan gives her an evil little smirk as he shakes his head. ]

That would require you to not only find poison but also to get it into my body. Quite the difficult task...

[ He sighs, the smirk melting into a victorious little smile. ]

...unless your lips were laced with poison. They aren't, right?

You say this like it would be difficult. There are a lot of common things around that are a lot more poisonous than people realize.

And then there's the internet.

That. _{[She clicks her tongue, and breaks into a lighthearted smile that's at odds with the mischievous gleam in her eyes.]} Would be kissing and telling.

[ As Faye continued her cagey, slightly terrifying enthusiasm over murder, Donovan could only laugh as she said "kissing and telling". She really was quite clever. ]

I wouldn't doubt that for a moment. After all, cooking something in a dumb way can kill you. And the internet has enough weird shit on it. If you were going to use the internet, I'd expect a more extravagant death.

[ He laughs again, clearly enjoying things. ]

You won't find a poison that will make my eyes pop out of my head while I breathe fire or anything.

[ And yet, he wouldn't be surprised if she could find worse... ]

_{[Hey, he started it. Don't dish it if you can't take it.

A small smile plays at her lips. ]}

[ His eyes widen a bit at her response. Goodness, she could be terrifying. ]

It just seems like a bit much for one poison, you know?

[ And then he shudders as another realization hits him. ]

You seem like you know what you're talking about! You haven't, like... poisoned people before, have you?

_{[He just makes it too easy not to troll him. If it's not a crime to exercise self-restraint, it ought to be.]}

Oh, you'd be surprised at what modern science is capable of, these days.

_{[She sighs in deep exasperattion and rolls her eyes dramatically.]}

Donovan, please, I always know what I'm talking about.

[ She always knows what she's talking about. ]

And that's terrifying, Faye. But it's terrifying in a... kind of good way?

The prospect that I may or may not have poisoned someone. That's terrifying in a good way.

_{[Her voice is a deadpan, but the corner of her mouth curls up in a wry grin.]}

[ He laughs, trying to break the mood. He probably fails. ]

But if you've poisoned someone before, I guess that could be pretty cool.
