"Make a contract with me, and become a Puella Magi!"

After being approached by the strange creature, you made a contract with him and became a magical girl—a Puella Magi (or Puer for the guys). In exchange for having one wish granted, you must fight witches and collect Grief Seeds in order to keep your Soul Gem bright and clean!

But witch hunting is dangerous work -- do you have what it takes to walk the path of a Puella Magi?

1. Teamwork, go! You've got another Magi at your side and the two of you are working together to fight this witch!

2. Oh, err... you've stumbled into another Puella Magi's territory and they're not happy about it. Get your dukes up and prepare to fight!

3. You're a newbie Puella Magi trying to find your way in the world. Lucky you've got a mentor who can teach you how it goes!

4. One minute everything's good and normal and suddenly the whole world is topsy-turvy—the fact that you're just a regular (and probably very confused) person isn't helping this whole trapped-in-a-witch-barrier situation you've found yourself stuck in at all, and you'd probably be toast if there wasn't this Magi here saving your butt!

5. You didn't think that things could be so serious, so hard in the life of a Magi—not until you both just had to watch a friend's gruesome death at the hands of a witch. What are you going to do now?

6. The awful truth has made itself known. You have discovered, in some way or another, that your Soul Gem actually contains your soul and now your body is little more than a meat puppet. It's okay to cry.

7. This is it; the end. You or your friend have fallen into despair and the awful truth has made itself known—Puella Magi mature into witches. You have become a witch.

8. You may have heard stories of this witch but never thought it could be so powerful. The Walpurgis Night is here and devastating your city, and you are the one who has to stop it.

[ One minute Eighis is fighting alongside a pair of Puella Magi, batting away Familiars with a crowbar and generally trying to not be useless. The next minute he's watching one of the aformentioned Puella Magi (the one that isn't Hirune) get chomped on. ]

[This witch is even stronger than she nor Jessie expected. Fuck. Jessie.

Okay. Calm. She can mourn later. Priority one is make sure her other companion makes it out alive.]

Don't get distracted--just stick close to me, you'll be fine. We're almost to the center.

[Raising her fans in a defensive posture, she interposes herself between Eighis and the rest of the familiars.

There's... a lot of them.]

[ Eighis is still muttering curses under his breath, but he still stands focused and with his crowbar at the ready. He might not be able to do much, but he'll still try to watch Hirune's back and maybe, just maybe keep her from getting overwhelmed. Even if all he can do is push the Familiars back a bit... ]

[ Unless you request otherwise (or the mood strikes me) he's going to be a regular guy for most of these. A regular guy with a crowbar, yes, but still a regular guy. ]

[ No, Eighis. Beating the strange monsters with your backpack isn't going to help much. Especially when they are surrounding you. ]

[And there are vines growing up from the grounds to restrain those familiars, followed by what appears to be...a pitchfork being stabbed through each of them, one by one.

It's probably surprising that it's being wielded by this awkward looking kid.]

[ Well, as long as there's no pitchfork (or Familiar teeth) stabbing through him, he's pretty cool with it. ]

[She hasn't even made a contract yet and she knows that's fucked up. And a lot of her friends have done this--

[Kaprao on the other hand, is just staring blankly at his soul gem in his hands, slightly corrupted since it's been a while since he's used a Grief Seed.

It's a little hard to say what the expression on his face could be, other than perhaps horrified.]

[Hirune picks the deceptively fluffy asshole up by the scruff of his(?) neck, so that she can look him in the eye.]

Can it be undone.

"And it was his choice, after all. If this is problematic, he should have asked, right, Hirune, who values reasonable thought and free will above all?"

"Then again, perhaps it would be possible to undo it with a wish. It's unprecedented, but..."]

[ puella magi who is slowly losing her ability to feel or emote due to her wish, probably halfway to witchdom by now ]

[ Hi, Mandya. Guess who's swinging your little Incubator friend by his tail and beating him against a brick wall. ]

YOU. LITTLE. BASTARD! Why didn't you tell us about that sooner!?

[ Guess who just found out about the Soul Gem thing. ]

[ just sort of watches for a while. she thinks this should probably be amusing, but can't really bring herself to laugh about it. huh. ]

[ He stops beating Kyubey against the wall and just. Stares. ]

O-of course, it matters! It's your goddamned soul!

[ He knows how this goes. He knows what happens when a Soul Gem goes dark like that. You can thank his wish for that. He also knows that at this point, there is no way he can stop it.

One of them is going to turn into a monster. ]

In which Eighis becomes the warlock

[notyouraigis]

[ He really shouldn't have given all of his Grief Seeds to Mandya. He knew he needed those. He knew what would happen if he didn't keep any for himself. He didn't care. In fact, that's one of the few things he doesn't feel despair over. He got to help Mandya, didn't he? ]

It looks like I won't be able to help you anymore, Mandya.

[ That smile he's wearing is so obviously faked, so obviously forced.

His Soul Gem cracks, then shatters, and Eighis drowns in his despair. ]

Eighis, no..........

[ why can't she cry. god, why can't she cry?? ]

Don't, you have to hold on, I can't do this without y-

[ but then him gem shatters, mandya screams, and suddenly everything changes ]

In which Mandya becomes the witch

[ Even with all of their best efforts, Mandya's Sould Gem still ended up like that. And Eighis is out of Grief Seeds to give her. There's nothing he can do. He can only watch in horror. ]

This can't be happening.

[ That's all he can say. Just that quiet, despairing denial. ]

[ she just kind of stares at her dark gem in mild disbelief ]

Oh.

[ she turns it over once, noticing a hairline fracture beginning to spread across it ]

[ she almost doesn't notice the strange wetness in her eyes, but it's such an unfamiliar feeling at this point that it's hard to ignore ]

I always thought I would die before it came to this. I guess we did too good a job, huh.

[ she clutches her gem in one hand and wipes at her eyes with her sleeve. the gem's cracks are now very visible ]

...... I'm sorry for being so stupid.

[ she manages a ghost of a smile before the gem finally shatters ]

[ Hi, Cheriour. There's a guy in your territory. He's definitely a Puer Magus. No one else dresses like that unless they're cosplaying. Also, he's probably not going to get why this was a bad idea. ]

[Oh, that's not good. That's not good at all.]

[Technically, Cheriour isn't the type of person who engages in battles on his own, but if this Puer Magus is in his territory, that means less Grief Seeds for him, and he doesn't want that to happen anytime soon.]

[So he steps out, also dressed in a ridiculously complex outfit and sporting some cool googles, raising his backsword as a sign of warning.]
